First off, i have to tell you this blog brings back strong memories of my high school girlfriend, and for that reason i feel like we know each other well. We are a Post-Gospel/Swamp Rock band from New Orleans, Louisiana and we will be releasing our new self-recorded and self-released album on September 24th on vinyl, cassette, cd, and digital formats. We would love it if you would listen to this early digital download http://www.mediafire.com/?82un5fd5zcvi34d and considering finding some words for it on your already sterling site. We have just celebrated our one year anniversary as a band by completing out third tour of the year, and through out self-releasing three ep’s that can be downloaded for free at sunhotel.bandcamp.com and now our brand new full Length “Coast” we have been likened to such acts as Colour Revolt, Clues, and Pavement. Thank you for your time and I hope you enjoy yourself!
I recall you did a few words about us a few years back and kind (ish) words they were too. Just to let you know we have a new album out on Fresh Hair Records….if you would like a copy to review then get in touch with them and they’ll send you one. Liking your blog. Keep up the good work.
Hey Partly Porpoise!
We saw your posts about Jonathan Wilson and Fleet Foxes, and thought you’d be interested in the adventurous indie folk music we make in our band, Town Hall. We’re based in New York City, but have spent the last year playing shows from Seattle to San Diego to Boston and beyond– and now we’ve just released our first full-band EP, Sticky Notes and Paper Scraps. It’s filled with lush arrangements and a refined distortion that you don’t typically hear coming from your run-of-the-mill Brooklyn folk group.
We’d love for you to take a listen and let us know what you think. Feel free to review the album, offer the songs for free stream/download, or just share with your friends!
Hi, just thought you’d like to know (if u didnt already) that Darren hayman is returning to the Everyman studio theatre in Cheltenham on Friday 31st may, this time he is bringing a couple of other musicians and the set will be hung around his ‘the violence’ album, I think it could be rather special, thanks for the nice review last time, if u could tell anyone else that could be interested it would be much apreciated, want to try and get him the best audience I can, many thanks Corin (also Martin Carthy and Roy bailey are on in the same week too)
All of the music here is terrific and deserving of your time. The recordings are ones I've made, and therefore not perfect. If you are an artist appearing on one of these recordings, I'd hope you could take them in the spirit they're meant (that of a fan wanting to share great music) but of course if you're still not keen, contact me and I'll take them down...
